Who is most at risk for nighttime cramps?

1. Older Adults
Age is one of the main risk factors for nighttime cramps. In fact, about 1 in 3 people over 60 experience them regularly.
Why this happens:
Muscles lose elasticity and firmness as we age.
Nerves become less efficient at transmitting signals.
Blood circulation slows, reducing blood flow to the legs and feet.
This combination makes seniors particularly susceptible to nighttime cramps.
2. Pregnant Women
Leg cramps are a common complaint during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters.
